3. —The vibe was absolute madness 😤

Gilbert Arenas 0️⃣was one of the league’s most electric⚡️ scorers🏀 during the mid 2000s. Known for his deep threes🏀, wild humor🎭, and personality🔥, he was a true fan favorite.

But by late 2009, things were starting to become shakey🤯.

He was still a big 🔥time player🏀 with a $111 million 💰 contract, but injuries💉, locker room 🔐🚻tension, and a struggling Wizards 🧙‍♂️ team had everyone on edge.

Then came Javaris Crittenton🎹, a younger guard 💂‍♀️ trying to find 🔎his place in the league 🗃and not someone you would want to mess with. ⚠️

“In my opinion🗯 this whole thing is weird👹, but let’s keep going cause it’s about to get interesting 🧐 .”

This whole situation started over a card 🎲🃏game. 

During a team flight ✈️ , the Wizards 🧙‍♂️ were playing a card game🎲🃏 reportedly BooRay🎯, supposedly it is gambling 🎰 game that gets heated quickly. 

Gilbert Arenas0️⃣was joking 🎭around after losing🥉 and refused to pay up💶. The amount💳varied from $1,000 to $2,000💰.

Crittenton🎹 wasn’t laughing 😂 .

Words 🗣were exchanged particularly they weren’t nice words🗯. 💢 Threats may have been made. No one knows exactly how far it went off🤬 on the plane ✈️ but it didn’t end there.

🔫 The Next Day in the Locker Room.🔐🚻

According to reports, Arenas 0️⃣walked into the locker room 🔐🚻and pulled out four unloaded guns🔫 on a chair with a note 📝 that said: "Pick one." 

Whether it was a joke😂 or an intimidation😱 tactic is still debated to this day📆. But the NBA🏀and the law 🚓didn’t find it funny.

Then things took an even crazier turn🔁.

Crittenton 🎹allegedly pulled out his own gun 🔫and pointed it at Arenas🔫0️⃣in retaliation. Yes, the two NBA players 🏀faced off 🕴with “choppas” in their own locker room🔐🚻, over a card game.

“It’s hard 😓to build🏠, but it’s very easy to destroy💥. Get it? 😉I thought it sounded cool🤷 like a motivational🗣 type of thing.”

🚨 The Falling Out

Gilbert Arenas 0️⃣was suspended 📝for the rest of the season📬. He was suspended to about 50 games🏀.

Crittenton 🎹was suspended as well, and his NBA career 🗑basically ended.

Arenas 0️⃣pled guilty ⛓to felony gun 🔫possession charges 📑, got two years 📆probation🖥, and never fully recovered his career image🌠. That’s what ended his career basically🏀, cause he was never the same after his suspension.📑

Crittenton's story got even worse🗑. He was later convicted ⛓of manslaughter 🔪in 2015 and is currently serving 23 years in prison⛓🚓. 😳

📝 Legacy behind this. 

The gun story🔫📝 became infamous. It basically destroyed the Wizards 🧙‍♀️ ’ season and image 🌠during that time📆. The incident 🧮tanked Gilbert’s 0️⃣prime, and he became the go to example 📘of “when keeping it real 🔫goes wrong” ⛓in the NBA.🏀

Arenas 0️⃣has since leaned into the story 📝on podcasts 🎙and interviews📹, cracking jokes about it. Even he admits: “I was doing dumb sh*t... 😔trying to be funny 😄 in a situation that wasn’t funny.”🎲🃏
