The Admiral averaged 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 62-20 record and the best mark in the Western Conference. Robinson's impressive play earned him the NBA Most Valuable Player award, the first time a Spur had received the honor. "He's the best player in the league," said Spurs coach Bob Hill.
